Farewell to Wendy Smith – Good Luck!
We’re bidding a fond farewell to our colleague Wendy Smith, who is embarking on an exciting new stage in her career.
Since she started working with the employment law team at Martin Searle Solicitors back in November 2009, Wendy has proven herself as an incisive, knowledgeable and approachable lawyer. Her clients, both employers and employees, have frequently praised her professionalism and expertise.
Highlights of Wendy’s time with us include helping an employer balance the needs of the business while dealing fairly with a flexible working application from an employee on maternity leave; representing a profoundly deaf client so that she was reinstated and her legal fees were paid; and helping a charity follow a fair redundancy selection procedure to preserve the morale of remaining employees.
The next stage of Wendy’s career will see her taking on a role at Sussex Downs College where she will be teaching A Level Law and hopefully encouraging a new generation of lawyers.
Fiona Martin, Director and Head of Employment Law at Martin Searle Solicitors, said:
“Wendy has always worked diligently and tenaciously to further her client’s case. These attributes will transfer well to the classroom!”
All of us here wish Wendy every success for the future.
